With the beginning of June, the fire protection season has started and lasts until the end of September or October 2026.
Hrvatske ceste d.o.o., in cooperation with the Croatian Firefighting Association, are once again supporting the campaign ''What could possible happen – recklessness is the first spark'', which reminds both citizens of the Republic of Croatia and visitors of the importance of responsible behaviour in nature.
A large number of fires are caused by human negligence, for example discarded cigarette butts, the use of open flames in inappropriate places, or unattended fire.
Croatia is known for its forests, coastline, and natural beauty, so it is important that we protect them together and reduce the risk of fires through responsible behaviour, especially during the summer months.
If you notice smoke or signs of fire, immediately call 193 or 112. A timely response can prevent major damage and save human lives.
