Project description

CROCODILE 3 CROATIA project, involving operators of state roads and motorways, is a follow-up of the previous project Crocodile 2 Croatia (http://crocodile2croatia.eu/en). The project includes cooperation with six EU member countries from Central and Eastern Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia and Croatia), working together on the deployment of harmonized and synchronized ITS services.

By implementing the Crocodile 3 Croatia project, Hrvatske ceste d.o.o. upgraded and improved the ITS equipment in the area of the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Bridge in Dubrovnik, enabling faster response and more efficient management of all incident situations on the bridge, particularly in the case of closures due to strong winds.
Drivers now receive traffic rerouting information directly at their current location on this section of the state road more quickly, and the transmission of information to the National Access Point has been accelerated through the DATEX II standard.

The National Access Point (www.promet-info.hr) has been upgraded to version 3.4 of the DATEX II standard for the exchange of traffic data and information, while maintaining compatibility with existing data formats. This upgrade has enhanced the capacity of data integration into the National Access Point system, and also improved both the transmission and quality of available information thereby achieving a higher level of interoperability among National Access Points across the European Union.
