Project description
On April 24, 2023 Hrvatske ceste d.o.o. signed a grant agreement for the implementation of the project "Increasing traffic safety on TEM roads" in accordance with the EuroRAP (The European Road Assessment Programme) methodology based on which road safety analysis is systematically carried out.
This project is a continuation of the EU project titled SLAIN (Saving Lives Assessing and Improving TEN-T Road Network), which analysed traffic safety on TEN-T roads of the Republic of Croatia. TEN-T roads are part of the Trans-European Transport Network, and Hrvatske ceste d.o.o. manage over 280 km of such roads.
The total value of the project is €2,725,786.00, 85% of which accounting for EU co-funding (€2,316,918.00).
The project includes preparation of project technical documentation, supervision and project management, and also works on 12 road sections on DC420, DC413, DC8, DC237, DC33, DC58, DC1, DC410, DC55, DC7, DC400, DC66 and DC424 located in seven cities (Dubrovnik, Šibenik, Split, Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Pula and Zadar).
The planned measures mainly consist of the installation of additional traffic signalization and traffic equipment that will decrease the likelihood of traffic accidents, as well as their consequences. This understands the installation of safety barriers, additional traffic signs and road markings, traffic calming equipment, equipment aimed at increasing the safety of motorcyclists and installation of traffic lights.
Deadline for project implementation is November 30, 2026.
